Support at Home requires participants to contribute to the cost of their services, and how much depends on both the service category and the participant’s means classification. Clinical supports attract no contribution; everyday living attracts a substantial one.
Participant contributions — how it works
Contribution rates are held per service category and means classification. When a service is delivered, Rostery calculates the participant’s share and the government subsidy from those rates, invoices the participant’s portion, and records the receipt when it is paid.
Because both portions come from the same service record, a statement line shows the full cost, what the participant paid and what the subsidy covered. Lifetime contributions are tracked, and protections such as no-worse-off arrangements are recorded on the funding record.
Why it matters for NDIS providers
Contributions are the part of Support at Home most likely to generate a complaint, because participants notice a charge they did not expect. Calculating it consistently and showing the working on a statement is what prevents that.
