Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages with a different funding model: classifications instead of levels, quarterly budgets with a capped carryover, contributions that vary by service category and means, and claiming through Services Australia rather than the NDIA. Rostery covers it in the same platform as NDIS, for providers who do both.
Aged care support at home — how it works
Each participant carries a classification, which drives the quarterly budget and the caps that follow from it. Services delivered draw on that budget, participant contributions are calculated from the applicable rates by category and means classification, and the subsidised and contributed portions of the same service stay connected.
Monthly statements are produced from the delivery record, and claims for Services Australia are prepared from the same data — so the statement a participant receives and the claim you lodge come from one source. SIRS incident reporting and DEX extracts are built on the same records rather than kept in parallel.
Why it matters for NDIS providers
Providers running both NDIS and aged care usually run two systems, which means two rosters, two payroll runs and two sets of worker compliance. Support at Home is close enough to NDIS operationally that the duplication is avoidable.
- One roster, two funding models: the same workers and shifts serve NDIS and aged-care participants.
- Classification-driven budgets: quarterly budgets and caps derive from the classification rather than being typed.
- Statement and claim agree: both are produced from the delivery record, so they cannot diverge.
What's included
- Classifications and quarterly budgets. Support at Home classifications driving budgets, caps and carryover.
- Participant contributions. Calculated by service category and means classification, invoiced and reconciled.
- Statements and claims. Monthly statements and Services Australia claims from the same records.
- SIRS incident reporting. Serious incidents with their categories, priorities and notification clocks.
- DEX and worker compliance. Data Exchange extracts and worker compliance tracked alongside NDIS.
Who it's for
Providers delivering Support at Home, and particularly those delivering both aged care and NDIS supports who currently run separate systems for each. It also suits providers transitioning from Home Care Packages, since legacy HCP levels are modelled alongside SAH classifications.
Getting started
Aged Care & Support at Home is included in your Rostery plan and works the moment your data is in — there is no separate module to buy or set up. Book a demo and we will show it on your own workflows, and use Rostery's “Smart Switch” data migration to bring your existing clients, staff, shifts and notes across from your current software in minutes.
