Most participants have a stable weekly pattern: personal care Monday to Friday mornings, community access on Saturday, therapy every second Thursday. Rebuilding that pattern in the roster every month is work nobody should be doing twice.
Service schedule templates — how it works
A template captures the pattern once — days, times, service types and the funding lines each draws on — and generates real shifts from it for a client or a group. Generated shifts carry the same service type, shift type and fund references the scheduler writes by hand, so rates and invoicing resolve identically whichever way a shift was created.
Every generated shift links back to the template item that produced it, so when a pattern changes you update the schedule rather than hunting for the shifts it created. Diagnostics show exactly what a generation will produce before it produces it.
Why it matters for NDIS providers
Recurring patterns rebuilt manually drift: a service type is missed, a fund is wrong, an end date is forgotten. Each of those becomes an invoice problem weeks later, and the diagnosis takes longer than the original entry would have.
