Group Services & SIL

One shift, many participants, correct billing

  • Ratio-aware billing
  • SIL houses
  • One roster entry
  • Under-claiming stops
Group programs and SIL houses with per-participant ratio billing

In a group program one worker supports several participants at once, and each participant is billed at the ratio that applied to them. Getting that wrong in either direction is either lost revenue or a claim you cannot defend.

Group services sil — how it works

A group shift has one worker and several participants attached. Rostery bills each participant at the support ratio that applied — 1:2, 1:3 and so on — using the catalogue item for that ratio, so a shift with three participants produces three correct claims rather than one divided by three.

The same mechanism covers SIL houses, where the ratio varies through the day and overnight arrangements differ from daytime. Because the shift knows its participants and its ratio, both the claim and the roster record reflect what actually happened.

Why it matters for NDIS providers

Group billing done manually is where providers most often under-claim, because working out the correct ratio item for each participant on each shift is tedious enough that a simpler approximation gets used instead.

  • Ratio-correct claiming: each participant billed at the catalogue item for the ratio that applied.
  • One shift, many participants: the roster reflects how the work was actually delivered.
  • Covers SIL and day programs: the same model handles both.

What's included

  • Group shifts. One worker, several participants, on a single shift record.
  • Ratio-based billing. The correct catalogue item per participant for the applicable ratio.
  • SIL rostering. House-based shifts including overnight and active-support arrangements.
  • Per-participant records. Notes and attendance recorded per participant on the shift.
  • Facility linkage. Group shifts attached to the site they were worked at.

Who it's for

Providers running SIL houses, day programs, group community access or centre-based supports. The larger the group, the more the ratio arithmetic matters — and the more likely it is currently being approximated.

Getting started

Group Services & SIL is included in your Rostery plan and works the moment your data is in — there is no separate module to buy or set up. Why teams love Group Services & SIL

Ratio-aware billing

Each participant in a group is charged at the ratio that actually applied.

SIL houses

Roster a house and its residents without creating a separate shift per person.

One roster entry

Staff see one shift, not one per participant.

Under-claiming stops

Ratio items replace an approximation that usually favours the funder.

One shift describes the real work

The roster reflects one worker with several participants, not several parallel shifts.

Group Services & SIL — questions

Each participant is billed using the catalogue item for the support ratio that applied to them on that shift, not by dividing a single charge between them. Those are different numbers, and the ratio item is the one the NDIA expects.
