What is EVV?

Also known as: Electronic Visit Verification

Electronic Visit Verification is the electronic capture of when and where a support actually started and finished, typically by a worker clocking in and out on a phone with GPS. It provides evidence that a claimed support was delivered at the stated time and place, replacing self-reported timesheets.

EVV is not mandated in the NDIS the way it is in some overseas schemes, but it serves the same purpose: it converts a claim from an assertion into a record.

It also protects workers. A verified clock-in is evidence of attendance in a dispute, and location data with a sensible geofence tolerance distinguishes a worker who arrived from one who did not — while a rigid geofence that blocks clock-in on a weak GPS fix simply teaches workers to work around the system.
